Code For Blue

The growing freshwater crisis represents the biggest threat to human civilization. We know that already. But…

„WE CAN CHANGE THIS IF WE ACT TOGETHER NOW!” as the motto of „EU BLUE DEAL” says.

So, let’s do it together! We have the answer:

STUDENT AGENCY ORIENTED EDUCATION PROGRAM THAT WILL WORK.

Our future, including the future of water, will be decided in the classroom. Today’s students will have to devise solutions to the water crisis in a few years. The EU Blue Deal aims to determine the future of Europe. In that case, it will have to prepare future decision-makers to face water challenges and ensure that the societies understand its premises well.

We need to enrol young people NOW in effective and innovative education.

Our program is scalable, credible, amply tested and guided by specific results.

The Code for Blue program locally engages young people in practical environmental activities. Such an educational approach provides them with practical knowledge and tools that will help them cope with complex future challenges and bring positive changes in their environment.

In Poland, our goal is to equip teachers and students in 10% of schools in each voivodeship with a comprehensive set of tools and knowledge that will allow them to identify the problems of our rivers and, in general, water resources and teach them how to come up with effective solutions.

We have scheduled to launch The Code for Blue program in 2024, and we trust that it also represents an attractive offer to other European countries.

Business can drive the positive change. Sustainable development, which can ensure growth, is now an integral element of the business strategy for the market leaders.

Its partnership with the „Code for Blue” project would not only contribute to achieving ESG goals and real change. It could engage employees, provide them with incentives, and become an element of a marketing or employer branding strategy.

The project will include a short film (20″) and educational materials based on the documentary „To the Last Drop” by Ewa Ewart and five shorter films featuring real people and cases with a strong educational message. We will also provide webinars, textbooks, and e-learning platforms for teachers, and we will design workshops for students to create solutions for their local problems.

Such a model of education supports creative thinking, effectiveness and a sense of responsibility in young people.

The Forum for Civic Initiatives Foundation is a Polish non-profit organisation actively introducing environmental education based on new technologies in Polish schools since 2017. It educates teachers and transforms schools into a centre for environmental education.
